Marlins have another strong showing in pool

OXFORD — The Miami County Marlins made some more noise recently at the Miami Redfins Mardi Gras meet at Miami University.

Marlins results included:

Scott Boyer won the 200 backstroke, 2:39.41; and 200 breaststroke, 2:55.99; finished second in the 200 individual medley, 2:51.18; and 100 freestyle, 1:02.17; and took third in the 50 backstroke, 34.39.

Todd Holsinger won the 100 individual medley, 1:20.79; and finished second in the 50 freestyle, 24.58; 50 backstroke, 38.03; and 50 butterfly, 35.28.

Bob LaLumiere was fourth in the 100 individual medley, 1:35.27; fifth in the 50 backstroke, 45.63; and eighth in the 50 freestyle, 36.37.

Austin Oder, won the 100 backstroke, 1:15.32; took second in the 200 breaststroke, 2:56.14; and 200 freestyle, 2:18.04; and finished third in the 50 freestyle, 28.18.

Jeff Lange won the 200 breaststroke, 2:49.19; 100 breaststroke, 1:16.89; and 50 breaststroke, 34.11; took third in the 50 backstroke, 38.98; and took sixth in the 50 freestyle, 31.87.

On the women’s side, Beth Vehre won the 50 freestyle, 41.0; and 50 breaststroke, 52.50.

The Marlins also won the 200 medley relay (Holsinger, Lange, Boyer, LaLumiere), 2:19.32; and the 200 freestyle relay (Holsinger, Vehre, Boyer, Oder), 2:07.69.
