Houston, Eastpick up winsat Tri-Village


NEW MADISON — Tristin Freistuhler took first place in the Tri-Village Invitational cross country meet Tuesday to lead Houston to the boys title.

Freistuhler won in 17:17, nine seconds ahead of Gavin Horne of Miami East.

The rest of the Wildcats top seven includes Ethan Knouff, 5, 17:37; Parker Cox, 8, 18:00; Dakota Francis, 13, 18:13; Devyn Ostrander, 24, 18:57; Blake Jacobs, 31, 19:25; and Jacob Slater, 37, 19:40.

Miami East finished third.

The rest of the Vikings top seven included Noah Shook, 9, 18:02; Justin DeWeese, 16, 18:29; Taton Bertsch, 17, 18:34; Luke Mengos, 18, 18:37; Alex Hayes, 22, 18:54; and Keagan Carsey, 34, 19:29.

Newton finished sixth

Indian runners included Ryan Mollette, 14, 18:15; Tristin Benedict, 21, 18:47; Curtis Shellenberger, 35, 19:30; Patrick Meiring, 42, 20:19; and Toby Hunt, 79, 23:57.

Bradford finished 10th

Railroader runners included Jackson Moore, 26, 19:13; Jay Roberts, 30, 19:25; Shane Bryan, 75, 23:12; Jared Shellabarger, 77, 23:26; Joe Roth, 82, 24:43; and Jordan Shellabarger, 87, 24:58.

GIRLS

Lorenza Savini and Marie Ewing led Miami East to victory in the girls race.

Savini was first in 20:12; and Ewing was second in 20:36.

The rest of Miami East’s runners included Lindsey Yingst, 5, 21:17; Josie DeSautels, 16, 24:18; Paige Blauvelt, 29, 26:11; and Abby Bollinger, 36, 27:08.

Houston finished third

Wildcat runners included Morgan Ely, 6, 21:39; Hollie Voisard, 7, 22:03; Allie Voisard, 11, 23:23; Addie White, 28, 26:05; and Kaitlyn Ellison, 32, 26:40.

Newton runners included Macy Flanary, 3, 20:56; Tatum McBride, 18, 24:31; and Lexi Oburn, 20, 24:49.

Bradford runners included Maia Stump, 13, 23:52; and Elisa Martinez, 34, 26:51.
