This activity is recommended for kids 10 years and up through adults. The village and Santa Claus Town will be displayed throughout the library with the names of our builders through January 2017.

Hayner hosts local artists

TROY — The Troy-Hayner Cultural Center is pleased to be hosting “Vessels, Vistas & Visions,” a fine art exhibit featuring the works of three local artists, Pamela Ridenour, Donna Pierce-Clark, and Shirley DeLaet. The exhibit runs through Nov. 27, and is free and open to the public.

Ridenour creates stoneware that is reminiscent of arts and crafts pottery; it is functional, silky, detailed, and glazed in the calming hues of nature. Transparency and movement dominate Pierce-Clark’s landscape and still life paintings. DeLaet’s painting style is representational, using smooth brushstrokes while focusing on blending colors to create natural transitions as her paintings progress. She paints in oil, watercolor and acrylic.

Troy-Hayner Cultural Center is located at 301 W. Main St. Hours of operation are Monday 7-9 p.m.; Tuesday-Thursday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday 1-5 p.m. The Hayner Center is closed on holidays.
