PIQUA — The following are highlights from Piqua police reports. All information is provided by Piqua police reports and Miami County Municipal Court records.
INFORMATION: A vehicle was reportedly left at a pump at the Marathon gas station on W. Water Street on Feb. 8 at around 8:30 a.m. The owner was contacted about the vehicle and picked it up.
ASSIST SQUAD: There was an overdose complaint on Walker Street on Feb. 8 at 11:20 a.m. A subject was reported as acting strange and then becoming unresponsive. The subject was transported to UVMC for further assessment and was cited for marijuana possession.
A man reportedly overdosed on heroin on W. Water Street on Feb. 9 at almost 2 a.m. Medics administered several doses of Narcan to revive the man. He was transported to the hospital for treatment. A syringe was reportedly found under the man. Johnathan I. Reineke, Jr., 26, of Piqua was charged with first-degree misdemeanor possession of drug abuse instruments in connection with this incident.
BURGLARY: Items were reported stolen from a house on Young Street on Feb. 8 between 7:15-8:30 a.m. There were no signs of forced entry.
MENACING: Several juveniles reported another juvenile pointing a gun at them and shooting it in the air on Fisk Street on Feb. 8 at 3:30 p.m. An officer made contact with the juvenile suspect who identified the gun as a BB gun. According to police reports, the BB gun was never fired and a firecracker was used to simulate the gun shot. An officer contacted all the juveniles’ parents, and they did not pursue charges. All the juveniles were turned over to their parents.
HIT SKIP: A complainant stated that a female juvenile hit her vehicle and left the area at McDonald’s on Covington Avenue on Feb. 8 at 5 p.m.
TELECOMMUNICATIONS HARASSMENT: A complainant said that she was receiving calls and text messages from someone and wanted them to stop on on Second Street on Feb. 8. The suspect was warned for telecommunications harassment and trespassing.
