PIQUA — The following are highlights from the Piqua police reports. All information is provided by Piqua police reports and Miami County Municipal Court records.
TRESPASSING: There was a complaint about three people trespassing at businesses on Country Club Road on Oct. 1 at 4 p.m. They were warned for trespassing.
THEFT: Several items were reported stolen off a porch at a residence on Second Street on Oct. 1 at 5 p.m.
A shed on Virginia Street was reportedly broken into sometime between Sept. 29 and Oct. 1. Items were reported missing.
A video game system was reported stolen from a residence on North College Street on Oct. 1 at around 9 p.m.
CLOWN ISSUES: A subject dressed as a clown was reportedly seen at the Miami Valley Centre Mall on Oct. 1 at 8:28 p.m. The area was checked, and nothing was found, according to police reports.
Two people were reportedly seen running through Kroger’s parking lot while wearing clown suits and masks on Oct. 1 at 8:30 p.m. The area was checked, and they were not found.
There was a report of someone being chased by someone dressed as a clown on Kitt Street on Oct. 1. According to police reports, there was a significant time lapse between when the incident allegedly occurred and when it was reported. No one was located in the area when it was reported at around 10:50 p.m.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT: There was a report of several subjects outside of a residence on Nicklin Avenue possibly about to fight on Oct. 1 at around 9 p.m. Two people were warned for disorderly conduct.
There was a report of people arguing outside on Nicklin Avenue on Oct. 1 at around 9:20 p.m. One person was warned for being loud and disturbing the peace. Another person was reportedly warned for littering and throwing trash in the street.
An intoxicated man reportedly appeared to be walking in traffic on Covington Avenue on Oct. 2 at 12:42 a.m. The man said he was intoxicated but was walking across the street to wait on a ride.
An intoxicated man was reportedly found sleeping on a public bench on North Wayne Street on Oct. 2 at 12:52 a.m. He was given a ride home.
SUSPICIOUS: There was a report of a person walking on McKinley Avenue wearing a mask on Oct. 1 at 9:30 p.m. The person was not located.
A resident reported that someone tried to open the door of their house on First Street on Oct. 1 at 11 p.m.
UNDERAGE CONSUMPTION: There was a report of two people handing out alcohol to minors on New Street on Oct. 2 at 1:35 a.m. Two individuals reportedly fled the scene on foot in different directions. A suspect was apprehended. Tobias D. Mendoza, 19, of Kenton, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor underage consumption and obstructing official business in connection with this incident. Mendoza was also reportedly charged with selling alcohol to someone under 21-years-old. Devin A. McGrath, 18, of Kenton, was also charged with first-degree misdemeanor underage consumption in connection with this incident.
OVI: A driver was stopped in the area of Scott Drive and East Ash Street for spinning tires on Oct. 2 at 2:21 a.m. Joshua D. Simons, 36, of Brown Township, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor OVI and cited for disturbing the peace in connection with this incident.
