PIQUA — The following are highlights from the Piqua police reports. All information is provided by Piqua police reports and Miami County Municipal Court records.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE: An unlocked vehicle was entered on Cottage Ave on July 29 between 1:30-7:30 a.m. The center console was reported as damaged. Nothing was taken.
A window was reported broken on a vehicle on Boal Avenue on July 28 at 11:25 p.m.
A man reported that another man threw rocks at his car in traffic on Covington Avenue on July 30 at 11 a.m. It reportedly damaged the vehicle.
A vehicle’s tires were reportedly slashed on S. Main Street on July 31. The damage was reported at 10:18 a.m. that day.
THEFT: Lawn ornaments were reported stolen from a yard on Garnsey Street on July 29 at 8:46 a.m.
A male subject was reportedly caught shoplifting at Walmart on July 29 at noon. The suspect was also selling stolen merchandise on Facebook, according to police reports. Ricky L. Angel, 55, of Troy, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor theft in connection with this incident.
A male subject was reportedly caught shoplifting at Family Dollar on July 30 at 10:44 a.m. Gabriel Bernal, 28, of Troy, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor theft in connection with this incident.
A window air conditioner was reported stolen on Park Avenue on July 30. The owner said it had been taken in the past week.
An unlocked vehicle was entered on Park Avenue overnight between July 29-30. Change was reported stolen.
Electronics were reported stolen from a vehicle on Haverhill Drive overnight between July 30-31.
A lawn mower was reported stolen on Sweetbriar Avenue on July 31. It was recovered several houses away in a tree. The property was returned to the victim.
SUSPICIOUS: Residents reported that multiple gas tank doors on vehicles on Manier Avenue were opened on July 29.
A resident came home to find her screen door open and lights on at the Bent Tree Apartments on Garbry Road on July 31 at 12:37 a.m. Nothing was reported as damaged or missing.
ORDER VIOLATION: A male subject reportedly made contact with a protected party on July 29 at 2:30 p.m. Matthew D. Shoe, 33, of Dayton, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor violation of a protection order in connection with this incident. A warrant for his arrest was requested.
UNRULY JUVENILE: There was a report of several juveniles fighting at Lock 9 Park on July 29 at 10:18 p.m. Two people claimed that they were assaulted by an unknown male juvenile.
LOST PROPERTY: A woman reported her purse as missing on W. Water Street on July 30 at 10:52 a.m. She was unsure if it was lost or stolen.
FOUND PROPERTY: A bicycle was reportedly found on W. High Street on July 30 at 2 p.m. It was taken into police property.
An alleged cocaine pipe was recovered in the area of Downing and Wood streets on July 31 at 7:35 a.m.
