The fourth annual Wounded Warrior 5K run/walk will be held at Echo Hill Golf Course at Nov. 7 at 9 a.m.
The event has raised $6,000 for cause.
The entry fee is $25 and includes a t-shirt.
A nurse will be present to check blood pressure and water, hot chocolate, apples and bananas will be provided.
Timing will be available.
Entry forms are available at Echo Hills, the City building, YMCA, YWCA, Total Fitness, Crossfit, Can’t Stop Running and Joe Thoma Jewelers.
The Edison Community College 5K for a Cause will be held Oct. 31.
The event is held in remembrance of long-time Edison professor Dawn Hines.
Proceeds raised from the event will be donated to the Dawn Stinson Memorial Fund to benefit her son’s education.
Pre-registration deadline is Oct. 24 and the cost is $20, which includes a t-shirt.

Registration the day of the race is $25 and does not include a shirt. Registration begins at 8 a.m. the day of the race. Shirts will be sold for $5. The race will begin at 9 a.m.
PLEASANT HILL — The Newton Fall Athletic Awards program will be held on Nov. 9 beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Newton Junior High gym. All athletes who participated this fall need to attend to receive their award(s). Parents are encouraged to attend.
PLEASANT HILL — Newton Varsity/JV reserve seat tickets for boys basketball will go on sale beginning Nov. 5 at 6 p.m. in the high school office.
Holders of 2014-15 reserve seat tickets will have the opportunity to purchase seats on a “first-come, first-served” basis. They will also have an opportunity to purchase extra seats at this time if they were not reserved last year. These seats may be purchased in the high school office on Nov. 5 from 6-7 p.m.
From 7-7:30 p.m., Big Chief Club and Indian Pride Club members and adults who have already purchased family passes this year, who did not have reserve seats last year, can select reserve seats. Beginning Nov. 6. unsold reserve seats may be purchased in the Newton High School office during normal school hours.
Make checks payable to Newton High School Athletic Department. Please bring your Big Chief, Indian Pride Club Booster Cards, your purchased All Year Passes or your Senior Citizen pass with you.
West Central Ohio Officials Association is once again sponsoring a Basketball Officiating Course at the Upper Valley JVS in Piqua.
The West Central Ohio Officials Association is offering classes for anyone who is interested in becoming a licensed basketball official for the Ohio High School Athletic Association. This license will allow you to officiate Junior High, freshman, and junior varsity basketball as well as recreation and select leagues.
Classes begin Oct. 22at the Upper Valley JVS room 221 and run through Nov. 16. The class will meet twice per week on Mondays and Thursdays from 6:30-9 p.m. Cost is $140 plus uniforms. Once you graduate on November 21st, you will be able to start officiating games immediately. Games pay from $22 to $45 per game.
This is a great opportunity for High School Students (Minimum age is 14) as well as anyone who misses being part of the game.
You will work as many games as you desire.
