SPRINGFIELD — The Miami East boys golf team competed in the Springfield D-II sectional Tuesday at Reid Park.

Playing on an unfamiliar course against unfamiliar schools was a little more than what Miami East had prepared for.

In wet difficult conditions, the Vikings finished sixth out of 17 teams with a 368 total.

Kley Karadak advanced on to district with an 81, the low score of individual qualifiers and tied for third low score of the day. He will play at the district tournament next week at Weatherwax Golf Course.

The rest of the Miami East scores included Scot Kirby 90, Ryan Haney 98, Walker Henley 99 and Dylan Martinez 106.

MIAMISBURG D-II

Versailles boys

MIAMISBURG — The Versailles boys golf team found the going tough at Pipestone Golf Course Wednesday in D-II sectional play, finishing 10th with a 348 score in a loaded field.

Versailles scores included Kyle Cotner 83, Nicholas Litten Stonebraker 85, Griffen Riegle 87, Jacob Watren 93 and Michael Hemmelgarn 102.

ARCANUM D-III

Raiders win

ARCANUM — The Russia boys golf team and Tyler Lachat of Lehman Catholic advanced on to the D-III district tournament at Weatherwax Golf Course.

Russia won the D-III sectional at Beechwood Golf Course with a 334 total, while Fort Loramie was second at 337.

Lehman just missed advancing finishing fifth with a 355 total, while Houston was 13th with a 416 total.

Russia scores included Jonah Counts 81, Zach Sherman 82, Connor Monnin 84, Dylan Cordonnier 87 and Jack Dapore 90.

Lachat was one one of four individuals to advance to district, leading Lehman with an 83.

Other Lehman scores were Tyler Scott 89, Cole Gilardi 89, Ryan Schmidt 94 and Adam Vanderhorst 98.

Houston scores were Nick Shoemaker 102, Deion Booher 104, Zach McKee 105, Tristin Stangel 105 and Cameron Via 115.

GREENVILLE D-III

Newton boys,

Winn advance

GREENVILE — The Newton boys golf team and Covington’s Levi Winn advanced from the Greenville D-III sectional at Turtle Creek Golf Course Tuesday.

Catholic Central won with a 355 total, while Newton was second with 361.

Arcanum’s Conner Pohl was medalist with a 75.

Brock Jamison tied for second on the day and led Newton with an 81.

Other Newton scores were Chet Jamison 88, Drew Thiesing 94, Wade Ferrell 98 and Milan Bess 104.

Winn also tied for second on the day, shooting an 81.

GIRLS

Lady Vikings

drop match

TROY — In regular season action, The Miami East Girls’ Golf Team squared off against the Lady Trojans of Troy tonight at Miami Shores. The Lady Vikings fell short in their quest to get 19 wins on the year, as the were bested by the Trojans 184-193. The Vikings were led by Megan Pettit with a 44, Kiera Fellers with a 46, Maggie Bergman with a 49, Megan Thompson and Haley Howard with 54, and Maxi Krites with a 62. The Vikings end the regular season at 18-4.
