WEBSTER — Griffen Riegle recorded a hole-in-one in the Versailles boys golf team’s win over Fort Recovery Thursday at Stillwater Valley Golf Course.

Riegle aced the ninth hole and went on to take medalist honors with a 36 as Versailles won 160-184.

Other Versailles scores were Nicholas Litten Stonebraker 40, Kyle Cotner 41, Jacob Watren 43, Michael Hemmelgarn 48 and Connor Custenborder 59.

Versailles won the JV match 220-227.

Tiger scores were Alex Keiser 48, Austin Pleiman 52, Alec Ahrens 56 and Brennan Gaier 64.

Russia golfers

edge Cavaliers

SIDNEY — The Russia boys golf team edged Lehman 175-178 on the West nine at Shelby Oaks Golf Course.

Jonah Counts led Russia with a 42.

Other Raider scores were Jack Dapore 44, Dylan Cordonnier 44, Connor Monnin 45 and Gunnar Young 46.

Lehman’s Zach Scott was medalist with a 41.

Other Cavalier scores were Tyler Lachey 44, Adam Vanderhorst 45, Ryan Schmidt 48, Avery Pickrel 48 and Tyler Scott 56.

Cats fall

to Tigers

SIDNEY — The Houston boys golf team lost to Jackson Center 186-201 on the West Nine at Shelby Oaks Golf Course.

Nick Shoemaker led Houston with a 48. Deion Booher had a 50, Cameron Via 51 and Zach McKee 52.

Jamison cards

39 for Newton

WEST MILTON — The Newton boys golf team defeated Tri-Village 171-188 Friday at Stillwater Ridge Golf Course.

Chet Jamison was medalist with 39.

Other Newton scores were Wade Ferrell 40, Brock Jamison 44, Grant Bayer 48, Milan Bess 54 and Garrison Willoughby 60.

Bethel boys

top Covington

TIPP CITY — The Covington boys golf team lost to Bethel 163-176 Thursday at Cliffside Golf Course.

Levi Winn led Covington with a 39.

Other Covington scores were James Grilliot 42, Andrew Slusher 45, Ryan Gengler 50, Braden Miller 61 and Derek McCool 65.

GIRLS GOLF

Lady Vikings

get past Russia

WEBSTER — The Miami East girls golf team kept it rolling tonight as they defeated Russia 197-209 at Stillwater Valley Golf Course Thursday.

Haley Howard took medalist honors with a 47.

Other Lady Viking scores were Kiera Fellers 48, Megan Pettit 49, Maggie Bergman 53, Emily Rowley 56 and Megan Thompson 57.

Russia was led by Maddie Borchers with a 49.

Rounding out the Lady Raiders top four were Kara Barlage 52, Alicia George 54 and Lizzie Adams 54.

Miami East is 4-1 and will be back in action on Monday at Lakeland Golf Course against Franklin Monroe.

CELINA — The Versailles girls golf team defeated Fort Recovery 196-213 in MAC action at the Mercer County Elks Thursday.

Maddie Covault was match medalist and led Versailles with a 46.

Other Lady Tigers scores were Lauren Heitkamp 48, Jorja Pothast 50, Lauren Durham 52, Morgan Heitkamp 57 and Cierra Miller 71.

GIRLS TENNIS

Gibson gets

singles win

SIDNEY — The Lehman girls tennis team lost to Kenton Ridge 4-1 Thursday.

At first singles, Diana Gibson picked up a 6-4, 2-6, 10-5 win.

At second singles, Sarah Gibson lost 6-4, 4-6, 10-7; while Lehman forfeited third singles.

In doubles, Emma Simpson and Melanie Bruner lost 6-4, 6-2; and Allison Briggs and Ann Pennaperra lost 6-0, 6-0.

Lehman will play in the Schroeder Invitational Saturday.
