Tiger boystake fifth

GREENVILLE — The Versailles boys golf team finished fifth at the Greenville Invitational at Turtle Creek with a 349 total.

Russia was seventh with 359, Piqua was eighth with 373 and Covington was 12th with 420.

Jacob Watren led Versailles with 84.

Nicholas Litten Stonebraker had 87 and Griffen Reigle added an 88.

Other Versailles scores were Kyle Cotner 90, Michael Hemmelgarn 95 and Issac Ruhenkamp 99.

Zach Sherman led Russia with an 87.

Other Raider scores were Connor Monnin 90, Jonah Counts 90, Gunnar Young 92, Dylan Cordonnier 94 and Jack Dapore 97.

Derek Jennings led Piqua with a 90.

Other Indian scores were Derrick Gullett 93, Kyle Ingle 94, Brennan Hicks 96, Aaron Davis 113 and Kody Poling 120.

Levi Winn led Covington with 87.

Other Bucc scores were Andrew Slusher 92, James Grilliot 114, Ryan Gengler 127, Braden Miller 141 and Derek McCool 157.


Lady Tigers

win tourney

ARCANUM — The Versailles girls golf team won the Lady Trojans Invitational at Beechwood Golf Course Tuesday.

The Tigers had a 390 score, while Russia was second with 413 and Covington was sixth with 545.

Emily Knouff of Fort Loramie was medalist with 74.

Maddie Covault led Versailles, finishing second overall with an 89.

Other Lady Tiger scores were Lauren Durham 96, Lauren Heitkamp 101, Jorja Pothast 104, Morgan Heitkamp 113 and Taylor Marten 142.

Russia was led by Maddie Borchers, who carded a 98.

Other Raider scores were Kara Barlage 102, Alicia George 105, Lizzie Adams 108, Ellie Fiessinger 130 and Shea Borchers 149.

Covington was led by Addison Metz with a 121.

Other Lady Bucc scores were Sydney Blanton 127, Kelsey McReynolds 136, Megan Alexander 161 and Noelle Gast 178.

Bachman gets

medalist honors

The Piqua girls golf team lost to Beavercreek 200-214 Thursday at Echo Hills.

Kelsey Bachman led Piqua and was medalist with a 45.

Other Piqua scores were Cassidy Kraft 50, Korren Evans 54, Macey Pruitt 65, Skylar Sloan 66, and Sarah Ganger 74.

Piqua travels to Vandalia next Wednesday.

Flames to

hold tryouts

The Miami County Flames 16U softball team will be having tryouts this month.

Tryouts will be Aug. 15 from 10 a.m. to noon; Aug. 16 from 1-3 p.m.; and Aug. 19 from 7-9 p.m.

Tryouts will be at Pitsenbarger Sports Complex.

Bucc tickets

to go on sale

Reserve seat and season tickets for the 2015 fall sports season at Covington will go on sale on Aug. 19.

Those who held football reserve seats last year may purchase tickets during the high school open house from 4:30-6 p.m..

Those who did not hold season tickets last year should come to the main office from 6-6:30 p.m.

Reserve seat tickets prices for adults are $35.

Season ticket prices are $30 for adults and $20 for students.

All tickets will be $6 at the gate.

The athletic office is also offering volleyball season passes.

Those season passes are $45 for adults and $20 for students.

Tickets at the door wil be $4 for students and $6 for adults.

Fall sports passes are also on sale for all junior high and high school regular season home events.

Those passes are $80 for adults and $40 for students.

Brody “Manziel” Fox and Marty Jackson shared low gross honors with 36 in the Wednesday Industrial League at Echo Hills.

Casey Lavey, Mike Lavey, Dave Novotny and Brian Robbins all tied for second with 37.

Dave Cox was low net with 30.

Tying for second with 31 were Mike Butsch, Joe Thoma and Tony Larger.
