Edison teams lose to Cincinnati State

The Edison Community College basketball teams will host Columbus State Saturday in OCCAC action.

Edison is coming off losses to Cincinnati State in OCCAC play.

The men, 16-12 overall and 3-11 in the OCCAC, lost 116-86.

No further information was available at press time.

The women. 29-9 overall and 7-7 in the OCCAC, lost 86-69.

Sydney Miller led Edison with 18 points, while Holly Frey scored a season-high 15 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and dished out five assists.

Brooke Hickey scored nine points, while Riley Culer had eight points and seven rebounds and Carly Buzzard had seven points and seven rebounds.

Edison was 27 of 45 from the floor for 60 percent, including seven of 15 from behind the arc for 47 percent. The Chargers were eight of 15 from the line for 53 percent.

Cincinnati State was 33 of 68 from the floor for 49 percent, including seven of 13 from 3-point range for 54 percent. The Lady Surge were 13 of 20 from the line for 65 percent.

Cincinnati State won the battle of the boards 40-35 and 18 turovers to Edison’s 14.
