The Piqua Optimist Club’s eighth annual Bob Mikolajewski Memorial 5K Run and Walk will be held July 16, 2016, at 8:30 a.m. at the Piqua High School — meeting in front of the Commons Area.
Runners and walkers should pre-register by mail postmarked before July 1st to ensure a race t-shirt.
Online registration is also available through www.cantstoprunnning.com.
However, race day registration will also be available starting at 7:15 a.m.
The cost to participate in the event is $15, and prizes will be awarded to the overall and age category winners.
The event is a major fundraiser for the Piqua Optimist Club and is held to honor the memory of our longtime member, club treasurer, and friend, Bob Mikolajewski.
The Piqua Optimist Club is a “Friend of Youth” in the Piqua community through its youth events, including Tri-Star sports, Youth Appreciation luncheon, the awarding of scholarships, and support of many other youth related functions.

There will be a Piqua Youth soccer camp from July 11-14 at the Piqua high school practice fields behind the junior high.
The camp will be from 5:30-7 p.m. for grades 1-7.
Cost of the camp is $40 and checks should be made payable to PISA.
Registration deadline is June 30 and walkins are welcome.
The Western Ohio Basketball Camp for boys in grades 3-9 will be held June 27-July 1 at Milton-Union High School.
It is the only five day, full day basketball camp in Western Ohio and camp will run fro 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day.
Each Player gets a basketball and camp t-Shirt. There will be trophies for 5-on-5 champions, 3-on-3 champions, free throw and hot shot champions for each grade and for camp All-Stars.
