Echo Hills holds Association tourney

David Shires aced the the 121-yard seventh hole at Echo Hills Friday, using his 8-iron.

Witnessing the ace was Guy Crotinger and Ric Banning.

Junior Camp

Signups for Echo Hills Junior Golf Camp are going on now.

Forms can be found at area schools and Echo Hills Golf Course.

The camp begins on June 8 and runs for six Wednesday’s in a row from 8 a.m to 11 a.m.

Camp is for ages 9-17 years old and cost is $35.

Gover, Pearson

win Association

The Echo Hills Memorial Day Association tournament was this weekend.

For the men, Ben Gover was low gross with 70.

Tying for second were Brian Robbins and Frank Barhorst with 75.

Mike Bosse was fourth with 76.

Tying for low net with 65 were Dave Brown, Mick Johns and Jerry Cantrill with 65.

Dave Neal and Rob Kiser tied for fourth with 67. Kiser recovered after no carding in the previous three Association tournaments.

Taking low gross for women was Cindy Pearson with 99, while Kathie Huemmer was low net with 80.

Gover, Harter

card 36 at Echo

Ben Gover and Doug Harter shared low gross honors with 36 in the Thursday Industrial League at Echo Hills.

Brian Robbins was third with 37.

Mike Butsch and Dave Neal shared low net with 32, while Dave Barnhart was third with 33.

Don Ruffner was second with 31 and Thom Teach was third with 32.

Judy Williams was low gross in the Tuesday Ladies League at Echo Hills with 46.

Sany Finkes was second with 50.

Sharing low net were Delma Grissom and Kathie Huemmer with 38.

Tying for low putts with 15 were Marty Hemm and Renie Huffman.

Fall softball

in Celina

The Grand Lake Fall League is taking registrations for the 2016 Fall League.

The fastpitch softball league will be divided up into three divisions this year: grades 9-12, grades 6-8 and grades 3-5.

The league will play double headers on Sundays for five weeks; there are not practices as to avoid any conflicts with fall sports.
