Sheriff investigates homicide

By Melanie Yingstmyingst@civitasmedia.comBETHEL TWP. —The Miami County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide in the 4400 block of Scarff Road, Bethel Twp., outside of New Carlisle.According to Chief Deputy Dave Duchak, detectives discovered the body of a white male in his late 20s, early 30s in the yard of the home Thursday morning. The victim has not been identified by authorities as of press time.The Miami County Coroner confirmed the cause of death as a homicide. The man was found with undetermined trauma to the body and was partially buried under debris in the yard. Duchak said once the body is removed from the scene, an autopsy will be performed by the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.
