Tractor crash claims 14-year-old

Staff ReportsCOVINGTON — A farm tractor crash on Klinger Road, north of Covington, claimed the life of a 14-year-old girl and sent four other to area hospitals on Wednesday afternoon.The crash occurred around 4:30 p.m. when a tractor, driven by Tammy Burns, 43, of Covington, that was pulling a box trailer, overturned in the 8500 block of Klinger Road. The tractor pinned Burns and two children underneath.

Upper Valley CC names Students of the Quarter

PIQUA — Troy High School senior Josh Detrick and Newton High School junior Elizabeth Deeter were named the Upper Valley Career Center Students of the Quarter for the third nine-week grading period. According to Upper Valley CC Director of Student Services, Matt Meyer, Detrick is a Pre-Engineering Technologies II major and Deeter is a Medical Technologies I major. They were selected from a group of seven nominations for the quarter honors.
