Susie’s thankful for kindness

To the Editor:

“What?! No ice cream?!”

That is what we heard many of you say while Susie’s Big Dipper was closed for three weeks. On Aug. 30, we found a rainstorm inside our store! A washing machine hose in an apartment above the shop was the culprit and approximately 16,000 gallons of water flowed before we found it.

Needless to say, we have new walls, ceiling, paint, flooring, and some new equipment. Come see the new and improved shop! Same great food and ice cream with the same friendly staff.

There are many people who made this horrible experience so much easier by their kindness. First and foremost, a huge thank you goes to Boone Restoration out of Greenville. Amazing staff and great job! We’d also like to thank Jason Waters with H20 Carpet Cleaning, Jerry at Piqua Store and Lock, Dan at Barker Insurance, Matt Raterman at McColloch Baker Insurance, Greene Street Church, Harvest Pantry, 311 Drafthouse, and Wholesale Carpet Outlet in Gettysburg. Let’s not forget our great employees and customers for their patience!

Hope to see you soon!

Susie and Wayne Pope
