To the Editor:
My deepest thanks to our 81 POWW volunteers that participated in the 12th annual Clean Sweep of the Great Miami River from south Sidney to south Piqua last Saturday morning. They got 4,740 pounds of trash (including 43 tires) off of 25-A, Miami River Road, River Road, East Lockington Road, and seven miles fronting the GMR and Piqua Hydraulic Canal along the Bike Path. They also cleaned around Vandemark, Kuther, and East Lockington bridges. All this was done by walking and picking up trash and bagging it.
Thanks also to our main sponsor, Cargill and our major sponsors: Atlantis Sportwear, Miami Conservancy District, Rivers Unlimited, City of Sidney, Butler County Storm Water District, Cox Media Group Ohio, Bonbright Distributors, and Sweet Water Brewing Co.
We couldn’t do it without our local businesses, foundations, stores, and eateries. Thanks for all you do!
The load is not heavy if we all lift together.
