BRADFORD — It’s May! Hopefully, those April showers bring tons of May flowers. I love looking around and seeing all the trees and plants looking so plush and vibrant. How could I forget the yards? The yards look like carpet! I love spring.
The village garage sales are scheduled for May 20-21. If you would like to be added to the garage sale list that will be available at the city building, call or text me at (937) 417-4317.
Congratulations to April’s students of the month: Elizabeth Skinner does an excellent job in art, works hard and is authentic to who she is. Hailee Baker has worked hard the second part of this school year to bring up her grades and is always pleasant and willing to help anyone in need. Gabe Gill has improved his math grade 110 percent and is a model student and class leader. And congratulations to Rita Leis for being recognized as the employee of the month.
The last day of school is May 19. Alumni is on May 21. Graduation will be held at 2:30 p.m. May 28.
Bradford Community Club
There are a few upcoming events at the club. The club is taking part in the community garage sales.
There will be an after Alumni event on May 21.
A note from president Rhonda Dunlevy: “Okay, Community Club members, we will be having a Community Club ‘work detail’ at 1 p.m. on May 15. So mark your calendars. We have several things that need to be done at the Club to keep up with upkeep including the roof, putting a floor in the outside cooler, and the back bathrooms in the small bar. Would love to see a huge turnout to get these things done. We will be serving food and drink all day to the helpers. So come on members, let’s Get This done! Our rain date for the roof will be May 22.”
The club is still taking donations for the Marcia Gephart Benefit. Marcia is fighting brain cancer for the fourth time. We hope to bring a little comfort and support to her and her family during these trying times. If you would like to make any donations for silent auction, raffles or baked goods. If anyone has a donation you can either drop it off at the Community Club on Saturday nights from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. or call Rhonda at (937) 623-2604 and she will pick up. The hot dog and hamburger benefit will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 22. There will be a corn hole tournament and Texas Hold’em tournament as well. The benefit will continue to 5 p.m.
