‪The Piqua girls soccer team recorded a 6-2 win over West Carrollton Wednesday at Wertz Stadium.

“We started off by giving up a goal in the first two minutes again but answered with six straight goals,” Piqua coach Flo Loisy said. “The girls keep responding in tough situations and that’s what we want to see at this point in the season.”

Kayla Schrubb had two goals and one assist, while Hannah Went had one goal and two assists.

Grace Jennings and Alexis Branum each had one goal and one assist.

Morgen Grunkemeyer also had a goal.


Piqua boys

beat Sidney

SIDNEY — Kenton Kiser earned medalist honors with a 40 as the Piqua boys golf team defeated Shelby Oaks 184-192 Wednesday in GWOC North action.

Other Piqua scores were Brennan Hicks 46, Kyle Ingle 48 and Derek Jennings 50.

Piqua is 2-2 overall and 1-0 in the GWOC North.

East boys

get win

URBANA — The Miami East boys golf team defeated Urbana 188-198 at Urbana Country Club.

Playing the blue tees, Ryan Bergman was medalist with 44 to lead East.

Other Viking scores were Scot Kirby 47, Devyn Carson 48, Kley Karadak 49, Dylan Martinez 49, Walker Henley 50.

Newton gets

CCC victory

WEST MILTON — Brock Jamison took medalist honors with 39 as the Newton golf team defeated Ansonia 196-235 Wednesday at Stillwater Ridge Golf Course.

Other Newton scores were Wade Ferrell 47, Donovan Osceola 55 and Grant Bayer 55.

Tiger boys

beat DSJ

WEBSTER — The Versailles boys golf team defeated Delphos St. John’s 171-208 Wednesday at Stillwater Valley Golf Club.

Kyle Cotner was medalist, shooting 42 for the Tigers.

Other Versailles scores Nicholas Litten-Stonebraker 43, JAcob Watren 43, Griffen Riegle 43, Michael Hemmelgarn 52 and Kyle Christian 56.


Lady Indians

split tri-match

SPRINGFIELD — The Piqua girls golf team split a tri-match at Springfield Elks Golf Club.

Team scores were Fairmont 215, Piqua 226, Springfield 258.

Cassidy Kraft led Piqua with a 53.

Other Lady Indian scors were Alaina Mikolajewski 55, Kailyn Simmons 55, Macey Pruitt 63, Anna Klopfenstein 64 and Korren Evans 71.

Lady Vikings

drop match

URBANA — The Miami East girls golf team lost to Urbana 208-213 at Urbana Country Club.

East was leading until Urbana’s fifth golfer came in with a low score.

Kierra Fellers and Maggie Bergman led Miami East with 52.

Other Lady Viking scores were Megan Pettit 53, Megan Thompson 56, Haley Howard 62, and Carynne Gross 73.
