The Piqua volleyball team cruised to a 25-11, 25-13, 25-14 win over West Carrollton Tuesday.

Logan Ernst and Tasha Potts had three blocks.

Cassidy Sullenberger had 32 assists and five aces.

Kailey Byers had 26 digs and Kyla Blankenship 23 digs.

Frannie Haney had a 10-point serving run with two aces.

SIDNEY — The Lehman volleyball team lost a close match to Marion Local 25-17, 25-20, 23-25, 25-19.

“Again, we played well at points in the match,” Lehman coach Greg Snipes said. “We just have to learn how to finish out (the games).”

Olivia Slagle pounded 20 kills and added nine digs.

Sidney Chapman added eight kills, eight blocks and 16 digs.

Marianne Hissong had five kills, while Allie Hall contributed four blocks.

Madeline Smith dished out 33 assists, while Ava Schmitz and Ellie Sargent each had eight digs.

Lehman will play at Jackson Center tonight, before hosting the Lehman Invitational Saturday.


East, Kirby

set records

LAKELAND — The Miami East boys golf team improved to 5-0 in CCC play Tuesday at Lakeland Golf Course, setting several school records along the way.

The 161-189 win over Bethel established a new low at Lakeland for the Vikings by seven strokes.

Scot Kirby’s 11 putts also set a nine-hole record, best teammates Kley Karadak and Ryan Bergman who previously shared the mark with 12.

Bergman was medalist with 39, Karadak had a 40, Kirby and Devyn Caron both carded 41s, Dylan Martinez had a 44 and Walker Henley added a 46.

Lehman splits


SIDNEY — The Lehman boys golf team split a tri-match Tuesday.

Team scores were Jackson Center 184, Lehman 192, Riverside 225.

Sam Dean was medalist for Lehman with 43.

Other Cavalier scores were Rocco Cantanzarite 48, Zack Scott 50, Tyler Scott 51, Ryan Schmidt 51 and Tyler Lachey 53.

Buccs get

CCC win

The Covington boys golf team defeated Franklin Monroe 162-200 at Echo Hills.

Levi Winn was medalist for Covington with 37.

Other Bucc scores were Joe Slusher 38, Jacob Blair 43, Ty Boehringer 44, Andrew Slusher 45 and James Grilliot 52.


Lady Buccs

get past FM

In a six-hole match, the Covington girls golf team defeated Franklin Monroe 154-191.

Kelsey McReynolds led Covington, 2-2 overall and 2-0 in the CCC, with a 36.

Other Lady Bucc scores were Alex Gast 37, Sydney Blanton 38, Addison Metz 40, Sadie Canan 43 and Megan Alexander 46.

SPRINGFIELD — TThe Miami East girls golf team lost 183-203 to Cathlic Central at Reid Park Tuesday.

Kiera Fellers led Miami East with 45.

Other Lady Viking scores were Megan Pettit 47, Maggie Bergman 53, Megan Thompson 58, Emily Rowley 71 and Kathlenna Braun 75.

Lady Raiders

BELLEFONTAINE — The Russia girls golf team swept a tri-match Tuesday with Minster and Riverside at Cherokee Hills to improve to 4-0 on the season.

Alicia George led the Raiders and shared medalist honors with Minster’s Ali Fischer, shooting 46.

Other Russia scores were Kara Barlage 47, Lizza Adams 47 and Corrina Francis 50.
