The Edison Community College basketball teams will host Cincinnati State tonight, beginning with the women’s game at 5:30 p.m.
The two teams split the OCCAC opener Saturday against Columbus State.
The men lost 71-64.
Chandon Williams had 19 points for the Chargers, while Lyle Cole and William Plummer both scored 11 points.
Nick Fischer had 10 points and five assists, while Brandon Ervin grabbed 10 rebound and dished out five assists.
Jordan Marrow scored 21 points for Columbus State, while Claude Lewis had 16 points and five rebounds.
Taivion Thomas had 13 points and nine rebounds, while Christopher Cook grabbed 10 rebounds.
Khari Burton had seven points, four rebounds, four steals and three assists off the bench.
Edison was 24 of 55 from the floor for 44 percent, including five of 18 from behind the arc for 28 percent. The Chargers mad 11 of 20 free throws for 55 percent.
Columbus State was 23 of 59 from the floor for 39 percent, including five of 18 from behind the arc for 28 percent.
The Cougars made 20 of 27 free throws for 74 percent.
Columbus State won the battle of the boards 37-31 and had nine turnovers to Edison’s 16.
The Lady Chargers improved 10-2 with a 60-57 win over Columbus State.
Brooke Richard had 18 points, five rebounds and five assists, while Bridget Geiger had a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds.
Tori Purk had 12 points and nine rebounds, while Morgan Huelskamp dished out six assists and had five rebounds.
Erinn Bailey had 14 points and nine rebounds for Columbus State, while Beyonia Hearn had 12 points and seven rebounds.
Jaslynn Rollins had 10 points and 12 rebounds.
Edison was 25 of 65 from the floor for 39 percent, including three of 11 from behind the arc for 27 percent.
The Chargers made seven of eight from the line for 88 percent.
Columbus State was 26 of 76 from the floor for 34 percent and missed all nine shots from behind the arc.
The Cougars were five of seven from the line for 71 percent.
Columbus State won the battle of the boards 43-42 and had 12 turnovers to the Chargers 19.
Edison was coming off a 63-52 win over Wittenberg JVs.
Purk had 14 points, nine rebounds and five assists; while Huelskamp added 12 points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals.
Aaliyah Wise had 12 points and eight rebounds off the bench, while Richards added 10 points and five rebounds.
Edison was 27 of 62 from the floor for 44 percent, including one of seven from behind the arc for 14 percent.
The Chargers made eight of 12 free throws for 67 percent.
Edison grabbed 40 rebounds and had 12 turnovers.
