Information provided by the Miami County Sheriff’s Office:
STOLEN CAR AND SADDLES: A deputy was dispatched to the 5400 block of State Route 41, Troy, on a breaking and entering complaint. The reporting party stated that someone had broke into her barn on Feb. 11 between the hours of 3 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. The victim stated that three saddles and a Volkswagen bug were taken.
DRUGS: A deputy made a traffic stop at 505 Crescent Drive, Troy, for a cracked front windshield. At the conclusions of the traffic stop, the driver Fredrick Whitson and passenger Michael McDade were issued citations for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The driver was also cited for Unsafe Vehicle and No Operators License.
PURSUIT: A deputy assisted West Milton PD along with Troy PD in a pursuit of the listed vehicle. The vehicle later crashed and the driver later identified as the defendant Josey Kessling took off running. The deputy pursued Mr. Kessling on foot and caught him behind a house in an alley. Other officer’s arrived and Mr. Kessling was taken into custody.
WARRANT: A deputy made contact with Stephanie Jones at 224 S. Elm Street, Troy. Stephanie had a warrant out of Miami County. Stephanie was taken to Miami County Jail for her warrant, and was also charged with possession of drugs.
TOOLS STOLEN: The reporting party at 600 N. County Road 25-A, Troy, reported his enclosed trailer containing several tools was stolen.
BAD CHECK FOR PIZZA: A deputy was dispatched to bad check complaint at Fox’s Pizza in West Milton.The manager of Fox’s Pizza stated they delivered a pizza to a parking lot in Potsdam. In the parking lot the manager gave the pizza to Kristy Ullery, and she gave him a personal check for the pizza.
When Fox’s tried to cash the check, the check was returned because the account had been closed. The manager completed a “passing bad checks” form and is sending it certified mail.
The check was booked into to Miami County Sheriff’s Office property room.
FRAUD: A deputy spoke with a victim from Piqua in regards to her credit card information being used to make purchases in Cortland Ohio. The victim advised the charges were made at a Wal-Mart.
BAD CHECK: A deputy responded to Erwin Chrysler Dodge Jeep, in Troy, in reference to a bad check which had been received by the business.
THEFT: A deputy responded to the 5000 block of Versailles Road, Piqua in reference to a theft complaint. Upon speaking with the reporting party, the deputy learned his 2004 Ford F150 was stolen overnight. The reporting party informed the deputy he left the keys in the truck and unlocked. The theft occurred between the hours of 10:30 p.m. and 4:30 a.m.
OVI AND POSSESSION: A deputy made a traffic stop on the listed vehicle for a traffic violation in which the vehicle went left of the center line almost hitting the sheriff’s cruiser head at East Simpson and South Walnut Street, Troy. After investigation the driver Justin Hockett was arrested for possession of heroin, marijuana, and schedule IV drugs.
