Comfort Inn, 987 E. Ash St., Piqua — Violations/comments: Provide thin tipped metal stem thermometer so food temperatures can be monitored. Observed bulk container of food without a label. All food items not in their original container must be labeled unless unmistakable to prevent misuse. Chair in front of hand sink. Do not block or obstruct access to hand sink so hands can be washed easily as needed.

Speedway, 900 Scott Drive, Piqua — Violations/comments: Provide thin tipped metal stem thermometer so thin foods can be properly monitored.

Nov. 19

Stillwater Valley Catering, 100 N. Sunset Drive, Piqua — Violations/comments: Satisfactory at time of inspection.

Nov. 24

Twin Dragon, 1598 Covington Ave., Piqua — Violations/comments: Food employee handling ready to eat produce with bare hands. Bare hands are not permitted to contact ready to eat items. Wear gloves, use tongs, etc. Observed ready to eat temperature controlled foods without dates. Date all ready to eat TCS foods with date opened or prepared. Discard after seven days. Disposable plastic bags being reused to store food. Only store food in containers designed for food storage. Observed broken food containers. All food containers must be smooth, durable and easily cleanable. Where containers are cracked/broken, bacteria can accumulate. The following areas/items need to be cleaned. All equipment must be clean and free from food build-up – microwave interior, floors, rice containers, food cart, metal stem thermometer, prep units (interior and exterior), food containers, spray bottle, shelves, blender, grinder, knives. Provide paper towels at back hand sink so hands can be washed when needed.

Subway, 987 E. Ash St., Piqua — Violations/comments: Satisfactory at time of inspection

Pretzel Time/Great American Cookie, 987 E. Ash St., Piqua — Violations/comments: A home use refrigerator is in use in food service. All equipment must be commercial, NSF approved. Remove unit. Blenders not being washed often enough. Continuous use food equipment must be washed, rinsed and sanitized every four hours of continued use to prevent bacterial growth.

Pizza Di Roma, 987 E. Ash St., Piqua — Violations/comments: Utensils were not being washed correctly. Wash with soapy water, rinse with clear water and sanitize in solution. Corrected. Observed several cracked/broken food containers. All food containers must be smooth, durable and easily cleanable. Cracks provide areas for bacterial harborage. The slicer and the ice machine need cleaning. Provide paper towels at hand sink so hands can be properly washed as needed.

Charley Steakery, 987 E. Ash St., Piqua — Violations/comments: The slicers need to be washed, rinsed and sanitized. The floors need to be thoroughly cleaned, mainly in hard to reach areas. Continue to remove unused items from facility to aid in cleaning.
