The Piqua girls soccer team was playing Vandalia-Butler tough when an unfortunate collision injuring Piqua goalie Chloe Clark happened late in the first half.

The Lady Aviators took advantage, scoring on the play and went on to a 7-0 victory in GWOC North action.

Piqua, 4-9-0 overall and 2-2-0 in GWOC North, will play at Celina Saturday.

Steve Sykes had his second hole in one in the last 15 months on the 110-yard seventh hole at Echo Hills, using his pitching wedge.

Rampage to

hold tryouts

Troy Rampage U14 Baseball is holding it’s last try outs for 2016. Catchers should bring their own catcher equipment.

The tryouts will be held in Troy at the Duke Park on Oct. 18 from 1-3:30 p.m.

Echo hosting

Warrior event

The fourth annual Wounded Warrior 5K run/walk will be held at Echo Hill Golf Course at Nov. 7 at 9 a.m.

The event has raised $6,000 for cause.

The entry fee is $25 and includes a t-shirt.

A nurse will be present to check blood pressure and water, hot chocolate, apples and bananas will be provided.

Timing will be available.

Entry forms are available at Echo Hills, the City building, YMCA, YWCA, Total Fitness, Crossfit, Can’t Stop Running and Joe Thoma Jewelers.

Mom’s Club

5K run

The Piqua Football Mom’s Club will be holding its fifth annual 5K Glow Run on Saturday.

Runners are encouraged to dress in their best Neon.

Entry fee is $20 and entries received before Oct. 5 will include a free t-shirt.

Edison to

host 5K

The Edison Community College 5K for a Cause will be held Oct. 31.

The event is held in rememberance of long-time Edison professor Dawn Hines.

Proceeds raised from the event will be dontated to the Dawn Stinson Memorial Fund to benefit her son’s education.

Pre-registration deadlin is Oct. 24 and the cost is $20, which includes a t-shirt.

Registration the day of the race is $25 and does not include a shirt. Registration begins at 8 a.m. the day of the race. Shirts will be sold for $5. The race will begin at 9 a.m.
