PIQUA — Preparations for the 2014/15 school year are wrapping up at Upper Valley Career Center. The school is offering two dates for schedule pick up, paying fees, and turning in paperwork. Matt Meyer, Director of Student Services encourages Career Center families to take advantage of the streamlined process available on Tuesday, Aug. 12 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Thursday, Aug. 14, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m..
“These are the best times to process paperwork and student identification, pay fees, complete uniform orders, and ask questions,” Meyer said.
New students begin with the school’s annual Jump Start Day on Wednesday, Aug. 20. “Jump Start Day allows new students to go through their schedule, find classrooms, and meet instructors and class mates,” Meyers explains. Jump Start Day begins at the scheduled start time of 8:23 a.m..
All students, new and returning, will be welcomed Thursday, Aug. 21. Classes operate from 8:23 a.m. to 2:44 p.m., which is the new school-day schedule. Meyers reminds parents how the Career Center school year calendar coordinates with that of their home school schedule. “The scheduled days for Upper Valley Career Center and the calendar of our associate schools may differ throughout the year. Students enrolled at Upper Valley Career Center are to follow the Upper Valley Career Center calendar.”
