Vets invited to take participate in parade

TROY — The 200 days of Troy’s 200th Birthday celebration will culminate with a festive parade and remarkable activities. Beginning at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 20, a parade through the streets of Troy will kick off an evening of family fun.

All of those who have provided military service to our country at any time are invited to participate in the Bicentennial Parade. No advance registration is necessary. Participants are asked to be in the area of Lincoln Avenue south of Drury Lane in Troy by 4 p.m. to join all of those being honored for their service.

Following the parade, everyone is to feast on food at one of Troy’s fine restaurants as they make their way to Hobart Arena for the outstanding Cincinnati Circus beginning at 7:30 p.m. This group of talented performers including clowns, jugglers, stilt walkers, trapeze artists, wire acts and more interact with the crowd to provide a fabulous circus experience.

The Grand Finale for Troy’s 200-year celebration, a laser spectacular is being planned for 9 p.m. at Hobart Arena. The Bicentennial Committee is pleased to announce that Audio Visual Imagineering will once again be back in Troy to produce this event. Some may remember AVI from their laser shows celebrating the Miami County Courthouse and a show at the Troy Strawberry Festival highlighting downtown Troy.
