For the Daily Call
PIQUA — Country music is synonymous with good times, large crowds and lots of foot-stomping sounds as attested by fans of the Nashville Crush band scheduled at the season finale of the Rock Piqua! riverfront concert series tonight at the Lock Nine Park. Festivities get under way at 7 p.m. with the popular Me vs. Gravity singer-songwriter Zach Nelson warming up the crowd.
The concert series is expected to topple the 3,000-plus crowd attending earlier concerts held this summer.
Tonight’s concert-goers will be able to purchase beer and wine as well as soft drinks. Food vendors will include Piqua’s own Susie’s Big Dipper and Hunger Paynes, a family-owned and operated food truck that serves up familiar favorites throughout the “937” area code. According to a Paynes’ spokesperson “we specialize in gourmet food prepared from scratch and by hand utilizing regional ingredients.
