COLUMBUS (AP) — Early fundraising totals from Ohio’s statewide candidates are expected to provide a window into how 2014 election rivalries are shaping up.

Campaign finance reports involving the races for governor, attorney general, secretary of state, auditor and treasurer are due by 4 p.m. Friday. Candidates for the state Legislature and Congress also will report how much they raised and spent through Dec. 31.

Four years ago, Republican Gov. John Kasich ousted incumbent Democrat Ted Strickland in one of Ohio’s most expensive gubernatorial contests.

Friday’s reports will show how much Kasich has raised in his expected faceoff with Democratic challenger Ed FitzGerald, the Cuyahoga County executive, as well as other candidates’ totals.
