Fletcher UMC to hold bazaar
FLETCHER — The Spring Bazaar at Fletcher United Methodist Church, 205 S. Walnut St., will take place from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, April 5.
Fish Fries continue at St. Mary Church
PIQUA — Lenten fish fries at St. Mary Church in Piqua will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday. Dinner consists of all the fish you can eat along with french fries or macaroni and cheese, cole slaw or applesauce, roll, and coffee. Baked fish will also be available. Desserts and soft drinks are sold a-la-carte.
Prices are $8 for adults; $7 for seniors; $6 for children 12 and under. Carry outs are also available for $7.
Fletcher UM Church sets Easter services
FLETCHER — On Saturday, April 12, the Fletcher U.M. Church will host a Kids Easter Celebration from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Preschoolers through 6th grade are invited to come for games, crafts, singing, and an Easter egg hunt.
The public is also invited to the following Holy Week activities:
• April 13 — Palm Sunday Worship Service, 8:15 and 10:45 a.m. Healing Service at 6 p.m.
• April 17 — Maundy Thursday Seder and Foot Washing, 7 p.m.
• April 18 — Good Friday Community Service, Cove Springs United Church of Christ, 7 p.m.
• April 20 — Easter Sunrise Service, 7 a.m. (Communion will be served); Breakfast, 8 a.m., Blended Service, 9:30 a.m. (Communion will be served).
Church hosting Night at the Greene on April 26
PIQUA — Greene Street United Methodist Church will be hosting a “Night at the Greene” Saturday, April 26, The event is the Food and Hunger’s Team annual fundraiser with all proceeds benefiting the Greene Street Food Pantry. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. with entertainment provided by local talents immediately following at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at Greene Street Church for $15 per person until April 19 (presale only). Dinner will include choice of marinated pork chop or Georgia chicken, baked potato, salad and dessert. Child care will be available for $5/child ($10/family), which includes a kid-friendly dinner. As the need continues to grow in the community, we ask for your support in the fight against hunger. Church to host gardening class
PIQUA — Piqua Church of the Nazarene, 400 S. Sunset Drive, will be hosting a Gardening 102 class on Monday, April 7 beginning at 7 p.m. If you would like to learn how to start a garden, how to maintain it, when you can start planting and how to maintain it, this class is for you. There will be a farm market at 6:30 p.m. and after the meeting to allow you an opportunity to speak with local producers. Good Friday worship chorus forming
PIQUA — A community chorus is being assembled to sing for the Community Good Friday service, which will be held from 12-1:30 p.m. Friday, April 18, at True Vine Church, 518 W. Ash St., sponsored by the Piqua Association of Churches. Men and women of all ages who love to sing are welcome to participate. A single rehearsal for the chorus will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, April 14, at True Vine Church. Carol Palmer will be directing and the music is available from church choir directors/praise team leaders throughout the Piqua community.
