To the Editor:
Yard signs are dotting the landscape and many people are receiving calls and mailings from the candidates for Common Pleas Court Judge. But the number of signs and other publicity only give you a small picture of who a candidate really is.
I am a local attorney with 30 years experience and I have known Stacy Wall since she became law director for the city of Piqua in 2007. Stacy Wall is running for the office of Common Pleas Court Judge and she is a good Republican. However, that is not her only qualification. In fact, Stacy Wall has a broad range of experience and leadership, which uniquely qualifies her for the position of judge. In her position as law director, she advises the city of Piqua Civil Service Commission, of which I am the present chairman.
Stacy has been instrumental in prosecuting nuisance cases on behalf of the city. She advises the city commission at all of its meetings and she provides legal advice to city departments on matters of collective bargaining, employment issues and interpretation of city and state codes.
In addition, she is responsible for prosecuting misdemeanor cases and felonies through the preliminary hearing stage. I also know of Stacy Wall’s leadership. I serve with her on the executive board of the Piqua Rotary Club as she presently serves as president-elect of the 75-member organization. Her experience and legal qualifications have been recognized by fellow members of the Miami County Bar Association of attorneys. They voted her “well qualified” and the “preferred” candidate in the race for Common Pleas Court Judge in a recent poll of a majority of its members.
I believe that if you review her website www.stacywallforjudge.com or get the opportunity to meet her in person, you will come to the same conclusion: that she is the best qualified candidate to represent Miami County as its next Common Pleas Court Judge.
