Pastor Charles Wilkens of the Piqua Baptist Church pauses from his work to show a photograph of South Street School’s arched entrance that he is duplicating as part of a hallway “streetscape” project in the classroom wing at the church. Some 15-20 volunteers have been involved in the project which, when complete, will feature a variety of Piqua “downtown” building fronts, including the firehouse, a pizza place and an ice cream shop. The project is expected to be completed by March 9.
