DARKE COUNTY - As yet another winter storm moves into the area, roadways became hazardous with blowing snow prior to the storm’s arrival. The road conditions were to blame for a SUV losing control north of Greenville Monday morning.

Emergency personnel responded to the reported crash just after 11 a.m. on State Route 118 near the Hillgrove Woodington Road intersection. According to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office, a male was driving a red Jeep Cherokee southbound on State Route 118 when the vehicle lost control on a patch of road that was drifted with snow. The Jeep left the roadway and overturned, coming to rest on its passenger side.

The male driver was able to get free of the wreckage, but his female passenger had to be extricated by Greenville Township Fire Department crew members. Both were treated at the scene with minor injuries, but refused transport to the hospital.
