TROY — Reservations are still available the formal dress ball being held at the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center to commemorate its 40th anniversary.
The April 30 Ruby Ball will have a 1940s theme with Tom Daugherty’s Swing Shift band in the ballroom. Starting at 6:30 p.m. you can learn a dance step or two in the East Room with Hayner’s new ballroom dance instructors, Cindy and Ronnie Mullins. Delightful hors d’oeuvres designed by Starry Dreams catering will adorn the Study. Have your formal portrait taken in the Solarium by professional photographer Keith Stoler as our gift to you. Waltz upstairs to the second floor for a variety of wine from The Winery at Versailles.
A World War II exhibit installed by the Miami Valley Veterans Museum will be in the parlor as well as a fashion exhibit in the upper hall. The iconic 1940s Rainbow Room is Greg Roger’s inspiration for the ballroom décor. Float around the dance floor to the Swing Shift trumpet, trombone, sax and drums as those velvety vocals fill the room with that smooth Big Band sound.
Share a champagne toast which will be at 8:30 p.m. to help celebrate the next 40 years of the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center.
