Family, friends to gather
TROY — A gathering of cousins and friends of the children of Lawrence and Lillie Earhart will be held from 3-5 p.m. May 18 at the home of Patty Taynor, 7624 E. State Route 41, Troy. Attendees will share finger foods. Attending will be Lois Jean of Alaska, Larry of Missouri, Janet of Kansas, and Loraine of Minnesota.

Basketball league forming
TROY — A basketball league for youth ages 5-18 years old is taking registrations at the Lincoln Community Center.
The registration deadline is April 1 for the league to begin at noon April 26.
Games will be played April 26 through June 21.
The participation fee is $30 per player and scholarships are available for those in need.

Quarter auction set
PLEASANT HILL — A quarter auction will be offered beginning at 2 p.m. April 5 at Indian Hills 4-H Camp, 8212 W. Lauver Road, Pleasant Hill.
Doors will open at 1 p.m. The entry fee and one paddle is $2 and $1 for each additional paddle, or an in-for-all paddle for $2o.
All proceeds will benefit the fund for the on site caretakers homes that was lost by fire last November.
A concession stand will be available.
Cemetery clean-up under way
MONROE TOWNSHIP — The 2014 annual spring clean-up for Maple Hill Cemetery and all other Monroe Township cemeteries will take place the week of March 3.
All decorations must be removed by March 30. The cemetery staff will begin removing old arrangements March 31 and April 1-5.
New spring arrangements in vases attached to monuments or saddle falls will not be removed. New arrangements may be placed starting April 6.
Museum to open, plans in motion
TIPP CITY — The Tippecanoe Historical Museum will be open every Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and every Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon beginning April 2. If those hours are not convenient for those wishing to visit, call the museum at 667-4092 for instructions to make an appointment.
The ornament for this year has been ordered. It is the City Building, now the office of Community Services. It will be an older version, when the library was upstairs.
The new officers will be inducted at the annual banquet on April 28. Joe Bellas will present a program about Miami County soldiers during the Civil War. Interested parties may call 332-6724 for more information.
The “If Tombstones Could Talk” 2014 cemetery walk will be held June 8 (rain date June 15) at Maple Hill. More information will be available at a later date.
