Centre College announces dean’s list

DANVILLE, Ky. — Celia Moser of Troy has been named to the dean’s list for the spring term at Centre College, an honor reserved for students who maintain at least a 3.60 grade point average.

Moser is the daughter of Brian and Tracy Moser and is a graduate of Troy High School.

YMCA taking sign-ups for fall programs

MIAMI COUNTY — The Miami County YMCA will be taking registrations for summer session classes.

Classes will begin Monday, Aug. 31, and last for seven weeks. This session includes many recreation and fitness options such as swim lessons, group exercise, gymnastics, youth sports and much more.

The Y will be taking online registrations at its website To do so, a participant must first register his or her email at the main desk. They can then go online, log in and register for their chosen classes. Registrations will also still be accepted at the desks and over the phone. Sesquicentennial planning meeting

PLEASANT HILL — Plans are being developed for the celebration of Pleasant Hill’s Sesquicentennial celebration in 2016. Officers for the event are chairperson Ruthann Coate Beck, co-chair-Steve Patton; secretary Jill Resides and Treasurer Lolita Schultz

Edison to recognize staff and student veterans

PIQUA — Students enrolled at Edison Community College for fall semester on a full or part-time basis are asked to come to the college library at the Emerson Center, study room No. 1, between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Tuesday, August 25, 2015, to have their photos made for a special display at East Hall where photos of former students and employees who are veterans are already on display.

Sessions will take not more than five minutes each and student veterans can wear civilian clothes or military uniforms. Agricultural Fertilizer Applicator training set

MIAMI COUNTY — Agricultural fertilizer applicator training has been set for Thursday Aug. 27 from 8:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Dulls Homestead Inc., 10404 National Road, Brookville.

There is no charge for the program, but pre-registration is preferred by Aug. 25 for refreshment count.
