Camp seeks participants
TROY — The Generations of Life Community Bereavement Resource Center, a service of Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County, is now accepting registrations for Camp Courageous, a five-day summer camp for grieving children and teens entering grades K-12.
Camp Courageous offers children and teens a traditional camp experience along with bereavement education and activities geared to help them process their grief.
The camp is offered free of charge to children in the Miami County area who have experienced the death of someone important to them. Camp Courageous 2016 will be held at the Ludlow Falls Camp, 2535 S. State Rosd 48, Ludlow Falls, from June 13-17, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

National Day of Prayer set
TROY — Troy Christian Schools will host its annual National Day of Prayer event Thursday, May 5, in which millions of Americans will join hands and pray across our great nation.
Join Troy Christian Schools in this 65th National Day of Prayer at the Miami County Courthouse from 11:55 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. There will be a student and staff led guided prayer and celebration of songs. If you are attending and missing your lunch, sack lunches will be provided.

Free stroke screenings offered in May
MIAMI COUNTY — During May, Premier Health hospitals will offer free stroke risk screenings, which will include total cholesterol, HDL (good cholesterol), blood sugar, blood pressure, listening to the neck blood vessels, a stroke risk assessment and counseling with a stroke nurse for those found at risk.
Screenings will be offered in Miami County on Wednesday, May 18, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at SpringMeade Retirement Community, 4385 S. County 25-A, Tipp City; and on Thursday, May 26, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Upper Valley Cardiology, 3006 N. County Road 25-A, Troy.
