PIQUA — One of the longest running arts events in Piqua will once again take place in September. The 22nd Annual Piqua Fine Art Show will take place from September 5-26 at Apple Tree Gallery during normal business hours. One of the largest exhibits in the Miami Valley, last year’s exhibit featured 175 pieces of art from more than 60 artists across six different categories.
All artists, from amateurs to professionals, are invited to participate in this exhibit. As one of the few exhibitions left in the area that aren’t juried for entry, the first 165 registered works of art will be accepted for this year’s exhibit. Artwork will be divided into six categories, drawings, oil & acrylic paintings, water media, photography, three dimensional works, and miscellaneous. First, second and third place awards will be given in all six categories along with a best of show award a minimum of eight pieces must be present in the category for awards to be given away. Business and community leaders will be invited to preview the exhibit and select works of art to receive special honorable mentions. The call for entry is now available on the Piqua Arts Council’s website at: www.PiquaArtsCouncil.org. Paper copies can be picked up at the Arts Council’s office at 427 N. Main St.
The Gala Awards Reception will take place on Thursday, Sept. 4 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Apple Tree Gallery 2nd Floor 405 N. Main St. Tickets for the Gala Awards Reception will be available for purchase at Readmore’s Hallmark starting Aug. 4 and will cost $25 per person ($20 per person for PAC members). The event will feature catered hors d’oeuvres and live music and will include the announcement of the award winners at 8 p.m.
