PIQUA – One person was transported for treatment following a two-vehicle crash on St. Rt. 66 at Hardin Road on Friday afternoon.

The crash occurred just after 4 p.m. when, according to Miami County Sheriff’s Deputies, a white pickup truck failed to stop at a stop sign on Hardin Road and crashed into a northbound mobile home trailer being towed by a pickup truck.

The impact caused the trailer to tip over onto its side blocking both lanes of St. Rt. 66.

The driver of the pickup that caused the crash was transported by Piqua Fire Department medics to Upper Valley Medical Center to be checked out. The driver of the truck that was pulling the trailer was not injured.

Deputies are checking to see if a medical condition may have played a part in the crash.

The crash is still under investigation. State Route 66 was closed for more than two hours while the crash was cleaned up.
