PIQUA — Two Dayton men have been charged in connection with a robbery that took place late Wednesday evening.
According to Piqua police reports, a Piqua resident “stated a male pointed a handgun at him and another male removed all the items from his person after striking him in the head” on the 400 block of Wood Street on Wednesday at approximately 11:20 p.m.
Hassan O. Purdie, 23, of Dayton, and Taylor Spencer, 22, of Dayton, were each charged with first-degree felony aggravated robbery. They currently are not in custody and warrants were reportedly requested for each of them.
“The victim knew one of the persons at the residence — a female — and the subjects that robbed him were at that residence,” Deputy Chief Rick Byron of the Piqua Police Department said. The victim was reportedly aware of the first names of his attackers.
“There’s no threat to the public. This was an isolated incident,” Byron said, adding that the event was “not random.”
