COVINGTON — The Covington Noon Optimist Club, in association with the Covington Kiwanis Club, will hold its annual Pancake Day on Saturday, March 19 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Covington High School commons, 807 Chestnut St.

Tickets, available at the door, are $7 each for adults. Children under 10 can eat for only $4. A ticket is good for all-you-can-eat pancakes, coffee, and one serving of sausage, applesauce, juice, or milk.

This year marks Covington’s 51st annual Pancake Day and the second year that the event has been held at the CHS commons area. This change allowed a larger, more efficient kitchen space and a better dining area for more guests to enjoy their meals.

All proceeds from Pancake Day stay in the Covington community to benefit the youth of the village.

The profits are split between the two service clubs. The Covington Kiwanis Club sponsors the CHS Key Club and other projects in town, such as the library reading program. In addition to generous contributions to the CHS Dollars for Scholars Program, the Covington Noon Optimist Club sponsors numerous other youth event, including recurring support of the annual Middle School Oratorical Contest, Elementary Safety Patrol, Halloween Contest, High School Honors Banquet, the P.L.U.S. organization, the Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership Conference for CHS students, and numerous other donations to Covington youth-oriented causes.

Major sponsors for this year’s Pancake Day are the Covington Eagles Aerie #3998, Koverman-Staley-Dickerson Insurance Agency, and the Covington Savings & Loan Association.
