PIQUA — Sixteen students from Lehman Catholic High School, Piqua High School and Upper Valley Career Center competed in the annual Piqua Rotary Four-Way Speech Contest on March 1 during the club’s regular meeting at Edison Community College.

Students participating included: Olivia Gorman, Cassidy Hemm, Kassie Lee, and Olivia Leece (Lehman), Jazz Allen, LeAnn Beaty, Whitney Biddle, Angelica Black, Tyeal Booker, Chloe Clark, CJ Davis, Logan Harris, Haydon Weldy, Wake Wenrick, and Emily Williams (Piqua) and Cheyenne Parke (Upper Valley Career Center.)

Three winners were selected, including Cassidy Hemm (first place), Haydon Weldy (second place), and Olivia Leece (third place). The three winners received cash prizes.

As the first place winner, Hemm will represent the Piqua Rotary Club at the District Competition on April 10 at Wright State University. Hemm is a senior at Lehman Catholic High School. The contest, based on the Rotary Four-Way Test, encourages Rotarians and others to make professional and personal decisions while considering “Is it the truth?” “Is it fair to all concerned?” “Will it build goodwill and better friendships” and “Will it be beneficial to all concerned?”
