PIQUA – Piqua police executed a search warrant on Wednesday afternoon at 1519 Andover, in the Candlewood subdivision.

Deputy Police Chief Marty Grove said that the department’s detective section had gathered information regarding alleged drug activity at the residence and obtained the search warrant.

Officers entered the residence and found three occupants. Two were released, and one, a male, identified as Oscar Simmons, from Columbus was taken into custody.

Grove said that their initial search of the home produced cash, along with a quantity of marijuana, cocaine, and drug paraphernalia.

A K-9 unit from the Tipp City Police Department responded to the address order to make a more thorough search.

Simmons currently faces a charge of Possession of Cocaine, a fifth-degree felony.

Grove said that the investigation is ongoing. Additional charges could be filed and additional subjects could face charges.
