PIQUA — While residents are in the throes of tax season, a new business in downtown Piqua is looking to provide people in the area with affordable help.
BTI Financial, located at 203 N. Wayne St. in Piqua, held a soft opening of their business last year and recently celebrated their first full year in Piqua with a ribbon-cutting ceremony this week.
“We do payroll and bookkeeping and we do tax returns also,” Reba VanPelt, partner at BTI Financial, said. They are also able to do tax planning, investments, insurance, and other financial needs.
“Taxes right now, we are right into it,” VanPelt said. “We still have room for appointments and drop-offs.”
The cost to have BTI Financial complete someone’s tax returns varies on what the person has. According to VanPelt, the costs are “very” affordable.
BTI Financial has also enjoyed being a part of the Piqua downtown.
“It’s a great location,” VanPelt said, adding that they have been well-received into the local community. “We have started off very well.”
VanPelt also encouraged residents and people in the area to come by with their finance needs.
“Drop by and see us,” VanPelt said. “We’re here for questions.”
VanPelt has been doing taxes for over 25 years. She worked for H&R Block for approximately 20 years, and before becoming a partner at BTI Financial, she worked for five years at a company in Sidney.
“I just love helping people,” VanPelt said. “It’s just a great way to get to know people.”
Other partners at BTI Financial include Scott Hughes, MBA, and Kathy Nash, enrolled agent. For more information about BTI Financial, call (937) 615-6276 or visit www.btifinancial.com.
