PIQUA — The following are highlights from the Piqua police reports. All information is provided by Piqua police reports.

SUSPICIOUS: A complainant stated that a subject was standing on his property between his vehicles on the 900 block of Plymouth Avenue on Jan. 27 at 6:15 a.m. The complainant said that the subject walked away when confronted.

A complainant reported that she might have seen someone in her backyard on the 500 block of Sherwood Drive on Jan. 27 at 11:26 p.m. An officer did not locate anyone.

THEFT: Checks were reported stolen from a residence on the 1800 block of New Haven Road on Jan. 27 at 7:45 a.m.

A complainant reported that “he gave a subject money to do work on his house and the work never got started” on the 1300 block of Echo Lake Drive on Jan. 27 at 1:53 p.m., according to police reports. Edward L. Lewis, II, 37, of Piqua was charged with fifth-degree felony theft in connection with this incident. Lewis is also facing two charges of first-degree misdemeanor driving under suspension and eight probation violations. Lewis is currently being held at the Miami County Jail on a total of $8,000 bond.

A wallet was reported missing from a vehicle on the 900 block of New Haven Road. It went missing sometime between Jan. 26-27.

Prescription drugs were reported stolen from the 500 block of Second Street on Jan. 28 at 5:15 p.m.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE: There was a report of a vehicle broken into at Washington Commons on the 900 block of McKinley Avenue on Jan. 27 at 8 a.m. There were no items reported missing and no damage was done to the vehicle.

HIT SKIP ACCIDENT: There was a hit skip accident reported on the 100 block of Harvard Street on Jan. 27 at 8:27 a.m. Suspect and vehicle unknown.

DRUG OFFENSE: There was a report of drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia at Hollow Park on the 800 block of Scott Drive on Jan. 27 at 4:45 p.m. Brandon M. Wellman, 20, of Troy was charged with fourth-degree misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia in connection with this incident. A female juvenile was also reportedly charged.

BURGLARY: There was a report of a burglary on the 800 block of Wilson Avenue on Jan. 27 between 4:15 a.m. and 7:15 p.m.

ASSAULT: A subject reported that her daughter was assaulted on the school bus at Piqua Central Intermediate School on Jan. 28 at 4 p.m.

MENACING: A reportedly menacing note was left on a subject’s door at Washington Commons on the 900 block of McKinley Avenue on Jan. 28 between 11 a.m. and 7:28 p.m.
