Armed robber hits drive-thru

PIQUA – The Spring Thru Drive Thru at 225 Spring Street fell victim to an armed robber on Wednesday.

Chief Bruce Jamison said that around 6:20 p.m. a white male entered the business, brandished a knife, and demanded money.

He fled on foot after taking an undisclosed amount of cash.

Jamison said the suspect is described as “a white male, believed to be younger, late teens or early 20s, wearing a blue bandana over his face, and a blue or a gray hoodie.

“He threatened the clerk with a knife,” said Jamison, “and was able to get some cash, then fled the area.

The robbery is still under investigation.
