PIQUA – Freezing rain led to an early morning crash on I-75 at the 83 mile marker on Thursday.

Radio reports indicate that the driver lost control after hitting a patch of ice and crashed at an estimated 60 miles per hour.

At least one person was transported by Piqua Fire Department medics.

I-75 was closed in both directions as troopers from the Piqua Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol investigated the crash and salt crews able to spread salt across the overpasses.

Both north and southbound I-75 were re-opened to traffic by 8:30 a.m.
