BETHEL TWP. — A Bethel Local Schools bus was involved in a head on collision with two vehicles around 8:30 Thursday morning.
Deputies and the school confirmed that none of the students on the bus were injured.
“We’re so thankful that everyone is safe and that the driver followed all safety protocols,” Bethel superintendent Ginny Potter said.
According to the Miami County Sheriff’s Office, the northbound bus was stopped to pick up students near the intersection of State Route 201 and 40 near Cobaugh Road. A car facing the bus was stopped and waiting when a second car rear ended it, sending it into the front of the bus.
According to the sheriff’s office, the impact to the bus was likely relatively minor, as the bus and the rear-ended vehicle were both stopped.
Two people from the other vehicles involved were transported to a local hospital.
Foggy conditions were likely a factor in the incident, deputies said.
