PIQUA — There was a report a subject assaulted with a firearm and then robbed at gunpoint on Wednesday evening. The assault was reported at around 8 p.m. that evening and allegedly took place in an alley behind the 600 block of West North Street.
“It is still under investigation,” Deputy Chief Tom Steiner of the Piqua Police Department said. “It was male subject who was robbed.”
Steiner explained that the male was struck possibly with a gun before being robbed at gunpoint. The male’s wallet was allegedly stolen.
“It is likely related to someone he associates with,” Steiner said.
According to the Piqua Police Department, it does not appear to be a random attack. The male was treated and released at Upper Valley Medical Center.
