Piqua police reports highlights

PIQUA — The following are highlights from the Piqua police reports. All information is provided by Piqua police reports.

FRAUD: A complainant reported fraud on her elderly mother’s cell phone account on Nov. 4, stating that seven additional phones had been added to the account.

Another complainant reported someone adding six lines to his cell phone account on Nov. 4.

THEFT: A complainant reported that someone had taken a 12 pack of Dr. Pepper from her unlocked car on the 500 block of S. Roosevelt Avenue at the Roosevelt Manor Apartments. It reportedly occurred between 6 p.m. on Nov. 3 and 2 p.m. on Nov. 4.

A cell phone was reported stolen on the 1200 block of Chevy Lane on Nov. 4 at 8:55 p.m.

A complainant reported that subjects had taken items from Kroger and left on foot in the area. Damian S. Elliston, 21, of Piqua was charged with first-degree misdemeanor complicity in connection with this incident. Dylan A. Voisinet, 18, of Troy was charged with first-degree misdemeanor theft and first-degree misdemeanor underage consumption of beer in connection with this incident.

A bicycle was reported stolen on the 300 block of S. Wayne Street on Nov. 4 at 10 p.m.

A female reportedly took a basket full of meat from Walmart without paying on Nov. 5 at 6:47 p.m. The female reportedly left in a blue vehicle.

Two males on separate occasions were reportedly found to be taking items from the store without paying. It was reported on Nov. 5. The incidents took place between Oct. 24-28.

Derek J. Dorsten, 34, of Piqua was charged with first-degree misdemeanor theft on Nov. 4.

Lorna K. Taylor, 48, of Piqua was charged with first-degree misdemeanor theft on Nov. 6.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: A complainant reported that a known subject had threatened to kill her if the court system came after him for child support. It was reported on Nov. 4. Shawn T. Owens, 45, of Piqua was charged with first-degree misdemeanor domestic violence in connection with this incident.

BURGLARY: A resident reported someone breaking into his home on the 600 block of S. Wayne Street sometime between 8 a.m. and 3:13 p.m. on Nov. 4.

A possible home burglary was reported at another residence on the 600 block of S. Wayne Street sometime on Nov. 4.

ASSAULT: A complainant stated that her juvenile daughter was assaulted by another female juvenile at Mote Park Community Center, located at 635 Gordon St., on Nov. 4 at 5:30 p.m. A female juvenile offender was cited with minor misdemeanor disorderly conduct in connection with this incident.

A victim reported that a known subject had assaulted him over not paying money for marijuana purchased. The incident reportedly occurred on the 300 block of Walker Street on Nov. 5 at 12:32 p.m. The subject reportedly denied the incident was over marijuana but stated it was over $10 owed to him. The subject stated that the victim had attacked him. They each reportedly had injuries and there was damage to the property. No charges were filed against the subject. Robert T. Staas, 26, of Piqua was cited for minor misdemeanor drug possession in connection with this incident.

SUSPICIOUS: A caller reported a male going through trash in an alley on the 800 block of Camp Street on Nov. 4 at 5:50 p.m.

A vehicle with an open door was seen on the 500 block of W. High Street on Nov. 5 at 10:30 p.m. A male was located nearby and charged with underage consumption. Trae D. Lee, 20, of Piqua was charged with first-degree misdemeanor underage consumption of beer.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE: Paint was reportedly thrown on a vehicle parked on the 900 block of Briarcliff Avenue on Nov. 4 at 7:50 p.m.

A driveway reportedly had paint poured on it on the 900 block of Briarcliff Avenue on Nov. 5 at 10 a.m.

A truck reported had white paint thrown on it sometime overnight between Nov. 4-5 on the 900 block of Briarcliff Avenue.

TELECOMMUNICATIONS HARASSMENT: A complainant reported that “the parent of a girl she goes to school with sent her a text threatening to beat her up,” according to police reports. The incident reportedly occurred on Nov. 5 at 12:27 p.m. The suspect was warned.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: There was a report of a menacing complaint on the 500 block of Gordon Street on Nov. 5 at 7:15 p.m. Several adults were warned for disorderly conduct.

UNLAWFUL SEXUAL CONDUCT: Carl T. Crawford, 20, of Sidney was charged with fourth-degree felony unlawful sexual conduct with a minor on Nov. 6.
