PIQUA — In an effort to make sure that the generosity of Miami County community members is not lost but is, instead, commemorated, the Miami County Foundation will be celebrating National Philanthropy Day on Thursday, Nov. 5.
“The event is to celebrate the charitable work that everyone does to make a difference and create impact in Miami County,” Cheryl Stiefel-Francis, executive director of the Miami County Foundation, said. “Whether you’re a donor, volunteer — or both — young or old, no matter how much you give or what causes you support—what you do from the heart makes a difference.”
The Miami County Foundation has been taking part in National Philanthropy Day for approximately the last seven years in order to make sure that the charitable work of businesses and individuals alike is recognized.
“It’s to bring awareness to the level of philanthropy in Miami County,” Stiefel-Francis said. “It’s celebrating all individuals who give of their time, their talent, and financial resources.”
The event will be held at Hartzell Propeller, One Propeller Place, Piqua, on Thursday, Nov. 5, at 4 p.m. It is located at the intersection of Sunset Drive and Covington Avenue in Piqua.
“We’re taking an opportunity this year to recognize Hartzell Propeller as a company and its employees for all of their philanthropic endeavors,” Stiefel-Francis said.
The event is open to the public, and the Miami County Foundation is encouraging everyone to attend.
“The event is uplifting, it’s a celebration, and when we think of November, it’s just a great time of year to give thanks for all we have,” Stiefel-Francis said. “It’s something that’s celebrated across the country.”
This event is planned by the Not-for-Profit Council of the Troy Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with all Miami County Chambers.
